Prince Charles marked Holocaust Memorial Day on January 27 by saying that “the task of bearing witness falls to us.”

Charles said: “As I speak, the last generation of living witnesses is tragically passing from this world.”

On the theme of this year’s Holocaust Memorial Day – “Be the Light in the Darkness,” which aims to “remember those who were murdered for who they were” and to “stand against prejudice and hatred today” – Charles said bearing witness was “not a task for one time only, nor is it a task for one generation, or one person.
