Tear Gas Fired in Baghdad as Protesters Clash With Security Forces

Hundreds of people rallied in Baghdad on January 25, joining ongoing countrywide protests against the Shia-led government and in favor of political reform. A video shared to Twitter showed tear gas being fired in central Baghdad.

AFP reported that three protesters were shot dead during clashes in the capital, while other fatal shootings were reported in Nasriyeh. Iraqi security forces also raided a camp in Baghdad housing protesters, with footage showing tents burning.
