Thousands Without Power After High Winds Rip Through Omaha

Winds moving across Nebraska on Monday morning, August 10, caused damage to trees, left thousands of residents without power, and left at least one woman injured, according to reports.

The National Weather Service in Omaha said it had received reports of 55 to 70-plus mph winds and urged residents to seek shelter and “wait it out.”

The high winds downed trees and caused a trampoline to fly into one Omaha resident’s backyard.
