One Harris County deputy constable was killed and two others were hospitalized after they were shot by an armed suspect in Houston, Texas, in the early hours of October 16, police said.
Police said the officers were responding to a disturbance when they were “ambushed” by a suspect on North Freeway near Crosstimbers Street at around 2.15 am.
In a statement outside Memorial Hermann Hospital, Houston Police Executive Assistant Chief James Jones said the deputies were trying to “arrest or detain” a suspect when they were shot from behind by another person.
