Timelapse Captures Funnel Cloud Forming Over Illinois

Timelapse footage captured a funnel cloud forming in Christian County, Illinois, as tornado-warned storms brought wind gusts and hail to the region, the National Weather Service (NWS) reported.

Footage taken by Lee Hicks shows the funnel cloud near the town of Assumption around 2:15 pm on Thursday. A tornado warning was in effect for southeast Christian County and southwest Shelby County until 2:45 pm.
