Timelapse Captures Lightning as Storm Glides Over Southwest Wisconsin

A man captured a dramatic timelapse of thunderstorms sweeping Wisconsin’s southwest on July 29, a day that saw as many as four confirmed tornadoes lash the Badger State.

Shot from a hill near Prairie du Chien, this footage by Brian Champion shows lightning illuminating the stormy sky as a dark arcus cloud glides across the land.

“I recorded for about 40 minutes until the rain started,” Champion told Storyful. “It was quite a lightning show. Some of the frames are so bright they look like they were shot in during the day.”
