Today’s top headlines: Tesla’s price cuts, Apple’s PC declines, AMC’s box office weekend

SEANA SMITH: It's closing time here at Yahoo Finance. Let's get you caught up on some of the biggest headlines of the day. Tesla cutting prices again. The EV maker slashing prices in the US for the third time this year. The company also announced that it will build a megapack battery factory in Shanghai. Now, Tesla hopes the new facility will be able to produce 10,000 of its giant batteries a year.

JARED BLIKRE: And Apple Mac shipments fell sharply in the first quarter. According to research from IDC, Apple's worldwide computer shipments fell 40 and 1/2% year over year in Q1. However, it's not alone. All of the top five computer makers saw their shipments fall amid an overall PC market slump.

SEANA SMITH: And finally, AMC closing higher by 7%. The theater chain says that it had its busiest weekend of 2023 and its third busiest since the pandemic. The chain crediting the strong opening for "Super Mario Brothers," which raked in more than $146 million at the box office over the holiday weekend.
