Tsunami Floods Seferihisar, Turkey, After Magnitude-7 Earthquake Shakes Region

A “small tsunami” struck the Seferihisar district of Izmir as a powerful earthquake leveled multiple buildings and killed at least 12 people in Turkey on October 30, according to reports.

The US Geological Survey placed the earthquake’s magnitude at 7. Turkish authorities said the quake was magnitude 6.6, and recorded 144 aftershocks in the country’s Aegean region.

As of the evening of October 30, Turkish media reported 12 citizens dead and more than 500 injured.

This footage, taken in Seferihisar by Instagram user @momslittlestar, shows several inches of water in streets and people assessing damage triggered by the earthquake and tsunami on Friday afternoon.
