Turkey heads to the polls to determine Erdogan’s future in pivotal vote
Turkey on Sunday voted in a momentous election that could extend President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's 21-year grip on power or put the mostly Muslim nation on a more secular course. FRANCE 24's Jasper Mortimer reports that the significance of today's vote is that Turks have a chance to put an end to the rule of Erdogan, who has also been steering Turkey away from EU principles of governance by setting up an executive presidency, which Turks say basically translates to "one-man rule".
