Wildfire Smoke Turns British Columbia Sky Into Murky Haze

Smoke filled the sky west of Kamloops, British Columbia, on July 30, as hundreds of forest fires continued to burn swaths of the province.

According to authorities, some 243 fires are currently active in British Columbia. Extreme temperatures in the province, where authorities warned of temperatures upwards of 34 degrees Celsius (93.2 Fahrenheit) over the weekend, are expected to worsen already fire-prone conditions.
