Wind and Rain Batter England's Lake District

The UK’s Met Office weather service issued an amber warning for England’s Cumbria county, including the Lake District, on Thursday, October 28, as continued flooding was expected to endanger residents and damage buildings.

The Cumbria Police warned county residents to travel only if necessary.

Cumbria’s Honister Pass measured 332 millimeters (about 13 inches) of rainfall in 32 hours, the Met Office said on Thursday.
