New Yorkers Form Long Line for Annual Turkey Giveaway

Hundreds of people were gifted a free turkey at an annual Thanksgiving food drive in New York City on November 24.

Jason Haber, an organizer of the event, shared this footage of people lined up near the Goddard Riverside Community Center in Manhattan’s Upper West Side neighborhood.

Haber told Storyful that 300 turkeys were handed out at Tuesday’s “Happy Family annual Thanksgiving turkey give-out.” Haber said some people arrived four hours early to make sure they secured a turkey for Thanksgiving. Credit: Jason Haber via Storyful
