BUZZ-Ladbrokes, Ocado: volume spikes at the close

** Big moves on volume on Ladbrokes & Ocado just before the closing auction of the U.K. trading day spurring speculation of a possible trading error on the two stocks

** Ladbrokes (LSE: LAD.L - news) spikes nearly 7 pct higher with almost a quarter of the full day's volume going through in the last minute. Shares (Berlin: DI6.BE - news) finally settled flat for the day

** Ocado slides 4.3 pct on more than a tenth of the day's volume going through in the last minute but final prices showed the stock closing at that level

** LSE says no requests yet to cancel any trades

** One possible explanation according to a trader is that an order that should have gone through during the closing auction - common for large orders - was put through before the auction started causing the big spike in prices
