Christmas toys 2013: where to find them cheapest
We detail where you can find every toy in the list for the cheapest price
The Toy Retailers Association has unveiled its predictions for the most sought-after toys of Christmas 2013. The TRA represents 50% of toy retailers, so its predictions tend to be correct - last year it correctly predicted that tablets for children would sell like hot cakes and it named the Furby in its list, which turned out to be the best-selling toy in December 2012.
Below, we detail where you can find every toy in the list for the cheapest price. Let us know in the comments below if you can find any of them cheaper.
LEGO City Coast Guard (RRP: £59.99)
This set features two water cannons, submarine, helicopter, dinghy, lighthouse with rocks and three sharks plus six LEGO minifigures.
While it retails at just under £60, it can be bought online at Tesco.com and Argos.com for £41.99, but at Amazon.co.uk and Toysrus.co.uk it can be bought for £41.79, saving you 20p. However, the cheapest Moneywise can find is online at Smyths Toys, where the set can be bought for £41.69.
Doc McStuffins Doctor's Bag (RRP: £19.99)
If you're wondering, Doc McStuffins is a children's TV character with her own show on the Disney Channel. This playset includes eight glittery pieces including Doc's bag, a thermometer, syringe, and a light up stethoscope. At Tesco.com and Argos it's £15.99, while ToysRUs is selling it for £13.99. But at Smyths it's £13.79 and Amazon is the cheapest of the lot at £13.33.
Flying Fairy (RRP: £34.99)
Children can move their fairy through the air simply by moving their hand, with this toy, that's retailing at £34.99. But Moneywise has found it for £24.99 with Argos and ToysRUs and a dirt cheap £24.49 at Smyths Toys. At the time of writing, Amazon was only selling US imports at £42.99.
Furby Boom! (RRP: £59.99)
This generation of the popular series of Furby toys now allows children to access virtual versions of the toy as well as create tiny Furby hatchlings!
Tesco is selling them for £54, but Argos undercuts that at £49.99. ToysRUs comes in cheaper at £47.79, but Amazon and Smyths Toys are cheapest of the lot – at £47.49 a pop.

InnoTab 3S (RRP: £99.99)
The latest version in the InnoTab series of children's tablet computers is not cheap, retailing at £99.99 – but Moneywise readers needn't pay that. Tesco and Argos are selling them for £79.99, while Amazon and Smyths Toys are offering the tablet for as little as £74.79. A quick word of warning, don't think you're getting a bargain, only to find you've bought the previous version of the InnoTab – the InnoTab 3 retails at around £65, while the InnoTab 2 is now around £50.
LeapPad Ultra (RRP £119.99)
The other tablet computer in the 2013 Dream Toys list, the LeapPad Ultra is the most expensive toy named by the Toy Retailers Association this year, retailing at a whopping £119.99. But you can buy it for £100 at Argos, £99 at Tesco, £89.99 at Amazon; but cheapest is at ToysRUs and Smyths Toys, at £89.49.
Monopoly Empire (RRP: £19.99)
This version of the board game allows you to teach your child to be a good little capitalist by building an empire of brands such as Coca-Cola, eBay and Xbox. While it's full price is the best part of £20, you can buy it at Tesco and Argos for £15.99, but it's just £13.99 at Amazon and ToysRUs. However, Smyths Toys is selling it for a dirt cheap £13.79.
Monster High 13 Wishes Doll (RRP: £22.99)
At some retailers, the price of these dolls fluctuate depending on the popularity or availability of each doll. For example, at Amazon, the doll named Twyla sells for £10.99 but Draculaura sells for £16.99 – either way, you're getting them cheaper than the RRP of £22.99.
Tesco is selling the range for a flat £17, while ToysRUs will save you a penny on that, at £16.99. Argos is a good bet, at £11.99 a pop, while Smyths Toys is selling the GiGi doll for just £11.33.
Nerf N-Strike Elite RapidStrike CS-18 (RRP: £39.99)
This gun offers rapid-strike firepower, allowing you to spray a blanket of cover fire or launch an all-out blitz of darts that will shoot up to 75 feet. It's £33.49 at Tesco, £29.73 at Amazon, £24.99 at ToysRUs and Argos, and £24.79 at Smyths Toys.
Robo Fishbowl (RRP: £14.99)
This fun toy incorporates a plastic fish bowl plus a robotic fish. The fish have special sensors so they do not work when out of water, but place them in your bowl and they'll begin mimicking real fish immediately. Additional fish can be bought for £9.99.
It must be popular because many retailers are selling them for more than the RRP. At Tesco, for example, it costs £24.99, while at Argos it's £19.99 and Amazon it is £18.50. Undercutting them all is Smyths Toys at £14.99.
Teksta Robotic Puppy (RRP: £59.99)
Tesco is selling the blue version of this artificial intelligence puppy for £54.99, while Argos is selling the pink or blue for the same price; but ToysRUs undercuts them hugely, offering it for just £48.99. Cheapest is, once again, Smyths Toys at £48.49.
