Europe Gasoline/Naphtha-Cracks weighed down by heavy Atlantic basin stocks

LONDON, Feb 7 (Reuters) - Gasoline refining margins in northwest Europe tracked lower U.S. gasoline prices, as rising stock levels in Atlantic (Shanghai: 600558.SS - news) basin weighed.

* U.S. gasoline futures fell over 2 percent on Tuesday, outpacing declines in crude futures.

* U.S. gasoline stocks rose by almost 21 million barrels in the first 27 days of 2017, more than double the average increase of less than 12 million barrels at the same time of year during the previous decade, inventory data showed.

* Exports from Europe to the Middle East, Asia Pacific and West Africa have been underpinning European gasoline margins in recent weeks as exports to the United States slow.

* BP's oil trading business, one of the biggest in the sector, reported a rare loss in the fourth quarter after it lost a $70 million lawsuit over an oil cargo delivered to a Moroccan refinery.

* BP's Chief Financial Officer Brian Gilvary said due to flat trading positions ahead of a crucial OPEC meeting at the end of November, and the lawsuit, the company's oil trading division made a "small loss" in the fourth quarter.

* Spain's Cepsa plans to shut down its diesel-producing hydrocracker, a hydrogen unit (HR2) and a sulphur recovery unit at its 190,000 barrels per day Huelva refinery in February for maintenance, according to an emailed statement.

* Cepsa began maintenance work on one of two crude distillation units (Crude 1) at its 240,000 bpd Gibraltar refinery in late January.

* Monroe Energy plans on shutting the 28,000 barrel-per-day naphtha hydrotreater this week at its refinery in Trainer, Pennsylvania, according to a source familiar with the plant's operations.

GASOLINE

* Gunvor sold three barges of Eurobob oxy gasoline to Varo at $538-$539 a tonne fob ARA during the Platts afternoon trading window. This compares with a trade at $551 a tonne on Monday.

* Earlier in the day about 6,000 tonnes of Eurobob gasoline traded at $538-$545 a tonne fob Amsterdam-Rotterdam, down from $552-$558 a tonne in the previous session.

* Three barges of premium unleaded gasoline traded at $553.50-$557 a tonne fob ARA. Vitol sold to Glencore (Frankfurt: 8GC.F - news) and Castleton sold to Glencore and Vitol.

* The February swap stood at $543 a tonne at the close, down from $557 a tonne.

* Gasoline barge refining margins fell to $10.94 a barrel from $11.27 a barrel on Monday.

* U.S. front month RBOB gasoline futures were down 1.83 percent at $1.4826 by 1650 GMT.

* The U.S. gasoline crack (RBc1-CLc1) stood at $10.27 a barrel, down from $11.13 a barrel.

NAPHTHA (NAF-C-NWE)

* Glencore sold a cif NWE cargo to Gunvor at $493 a tonne for Feb 18-22 delivery. (Reporting by Ahmad Ghaddar; Editing by Alexander Smith)
