FOSTER CITY, CA--(Marketwired - Feb 18, 2015) - GridGain™ Systems (www.GridGain.com), the leading innovator behind open source and commercial in-memory data fabric solutions that accelerate business operations and time to insights for the enterprise and in the cloud, announced today a new release of the GridGain In-Memory Data Fabric Enterprise Edition built on Apache Ignite. This latest release, which will be available for download early in Q2, includes new ease-of-use and automation features which help simplify the deployment of the software as well as the migration from legacy in-memory data grids. A Gartner 2014 Cool Vendor, GridGain was recently selected as an AlwaysOn OnCloud Top 100 company.

The GridGain In-Memory Data Fabric is a complete, enterprise-grade software solution for enabling high-volume transactions, real-time analytics and hybrid transactional-analytical processing in a single, highly scalable data access and processing layer. Through its unified APIs, it offers speed and scale to all types of new and existing applications (including Java, .NET, C++) and allows queries across diverse data stores containing structured, semi-structured and unstructured data (SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop). Unlike legacy in-memory point solutions, such as data grids or in-memory databases, an in-memory data fabric offers a strategic approach to in-memory computing, while reducing the cost and complexity of deploying high-performance data processing.

The GridGain In-Memory Data Fabric is a proven, enterprise-grade in-memory data fabric that offers predictable latency at any scale, flexible horizontal and vertical scaling, configurable data consistency, high availability and enhanced security; it has been designed to run on commodity hardware on-premises and in the cloud. New in version 7.0, it will also offer enhanced ease-of-use and automation features, including:

  • JCache (JSR-107) support: JCache provides a seamless and easy-to-use API for interacting with Java in-memory caches. In version 7.0 of the GridGain In-Memory Data Fabric, caching is implemented based on JCache, which adds significant functionality, and allows organizations to easily migrate to from other JCache-compliant products such as Oracle Coherence, Software AG Terracotta or Hazelcast.

  • Auto-Loading of SQL data: Also new in version 7.0, this feature offers simplified integration with different RDBMS systems (Oracle, MySQL, Postgres, DB2, Microsoft SQL, etc.). Moving from disk-based architectures to in-memory architectures can be tedious, so the GridGain In-Memory Data Fabric streamlines the process and saves time by providing a simple utility, which automatically reads the database schema, creates required in-memory indexes, and optionally generates the domain model in Java.

  • Dynamic cache creation: GridGain In-Memory Data Fabric v7.0 allows for dynamic cache creation on the fly, enabling users to define configuration and cluster topology for the cache to be automatically started on the cluster. This simplifies the configuration process, removing the need for users to know all cache configurations in advance and the need to restart the entire cluster or update multiple configuration files on every cluster member. This timesaving feature lets you define and deploy caches from a single client throughout runtime of an application.
