Percona Hosts New OpenStack Live 2015 Conference

DURHAM, NC--(Marketwired - Sep 11, 2014) - Percona, the company that makes MySQL faster and more reliable, today announced OpenStack Live 2015, a new annual conference that will run in parallel with the Percona Live MySQL Conference & Expo 2015 at The Hyatt Regency Santa Clara and Santa Clara Convention Center. OpenStack Live 2015 will take place April 13-14. Speaker proposals for the conference will be accepted now through November 9, 2014, and Early Bird registration is available until February 1, 2015 at 11:30 p.m. PST.

OpenStack, the fastest-growing open cloud platform, is a highly scalable operating system for public and private clouds and is winning the support of service providers and organizations of all sizes. OpenStack Live 2015 is a unique opportunity to hear from leading experts in the field about top cloud strategies, improving overall cloud performance, and operational best practices for managing and optimizing OpenStack and its MySQL database core.

OpenStack Live builds on the success of the Percona Live MySQL Conference & Expo, which is held annually in Silicon Valley. At last year's conference, which drew more than 1,100 registered attendees from 40 countries around the world, Percona introduced OpenStack Open Source Appreciation Day to rave reviews, leading to the creation of the OpenStack Live conference.

The Call for Papers for OpenStack Live 2015 is open now through November 9, 2014. Percona also invites proposals for tutorial sessions, which focus on an immediate and practical application of in-depth OpenStack knowledge. Tutorial speakers should assume that attendees will have laptops to work through detailed and hands-on presentations. Tutorials are typically three hours in length including a Q&A, but submissions will also be accepted for full-day, 6-hour tutorials. Selected speakers will receive a complimentary full conference pass.
