Next week on EastEnders will see Chantelle's domestic-abuse story reach a devastating ending, while Frankie takes an unusual interest in the Carter family and Callum faces a new dilemma over Ben.

Next week marks the tragic end to Chantelle's ongoing story, as she's killed by Gray when she's trying to leave him.

Chantelle's final days will see her plot an escape, which is, ostensibly, a 'family holiday' to the seaside.

However, as Chantelle puts the final arrangements in place – which include saying an emotional goodbye to Kheerat– Gray throws a manipulative spanner in the works by insisting the children stay home with him.

2. Mitch grows worried

When Chantelle is forced to proceed with the 'holiday' without Mack and Mia, her dad Mitch will grow concerned about her withdrawn behaviour.

Aware that something is wrong, Mitch follows Chantelle to a cafe at the seaside, but she doesn't open up and instead insists that she is just missing her children.

Desperate to fix things for her, Mitch heads back to Walford to get the youngsters. But as Chantelle begins to feel hopeful that her plan is back on, she is unaware that Mitch has returned – with Gray in tow.

When Gray subtly forces Chantelle back to Walford later on, Mitch detects a flicker of fear on Chantelle's face.

With his suspicions intensifying, Gray will go to extreme lengths to make Chantelle's life as difficult as possible while she's trying to get away.

Not only does he insist on the children staying back with him, but Gray later horrifies Chantelle by turning up at her holiday destination.

When Gray insists that they all go back to Walford, Chantelle has no choice but to agree given that the kids are already in the car.

After being forced back home by Gray, next Friday's episode will see Chantelle arrive back in Walford with her abusive husband, where the horror she has lived silently with for many years is about to get worse.

Show bosses have already confirmed that Chantelle will die at the end of next week's harrowing scenes, with executive producer Jon Sen saying: "Jessica's performance is nothing short of extraordinary, and even in her final scenes, the audience will be moved by Chantelle's strength.

"We're very sorry so see Jessica go but hope that her impact on viewers is long-lasting."

5. Frankie takes an interest in the Carters

As Tina gets to know Frankie, she learns about Frankie's brother – who died ten years ago.

Tina's excited when Frankie asks her out for a drink after work and Frankie instantly takes a shine to Ollie when she meets him at The Vic.

Frankie is soon bonding with Ollie, but the Carters are unaware that she is taking photos of them. What is she up to?

Max's week gets off to a good start when he learns that his divorce from Rainie has finally come through.

Delighted, Max thanks Ian for helping him out and tells him to keep £2,000 of what he owes him for his gratitude. However, Max does insist that he needs the rest back – and now. Which could be an issue given that Ian no longer has it...

7. Kathy worries Ian's debts

With Ian preparing for a meeting with Councillor Douglas to try and get his backing to become the Chair of the planning committee, Kathy grows further concerned about his spiralling money situation.

Kathy is left shocked when Ian tells her this meeting is his only way out and her worries intensify when she overhears Max joking about ways to get the money back off him.

When Kathy inadvertently lets slip that Ian is having financial struggles, Max’s interest is piqued and he decides to get answers.

On Callum’s advice, Ben goes to Phil for advice about the situation with Danny and later confides in Jay about what he is planning. But is he playing with fire?

With Ian's meeting underway at Walford East, his problems go from bad to worse when Max arrives and openly accuses him of stealing his money.

The good news for Ballum fans is that the couple are back on track next week. The bad news, however, is that it doesn't last long.

As they get ready for Stuart’s stag do, Ben decides to be honest with Callum and tells him the latest on Danny.

Feeling more confident about their future. Callum asks if the offer to move in together is still on the table but their happy moment is short-lived.

Later, Callum is faced with the moment he's been dreading when Di Thompson questions him about his relationship with a Mitchell. Where do his loyalties lie?
