8 Ways You're Probably Cooking Pasta Wrong
A big ol' plate of pasta is one of the easiest dinners out there. It’s versatile, inexpensive and god knows it’s delicious. But did you know that there are a lot of things we’ve started doing over the years which are absolutely not okay according to experts?
Italian food brand Napolina, which is known for its pasta sauces, dried pasta and olive oil, has revealed a load of mistakes we’ve been making while cooking pasta over the years, including adding cheese at the table. That’s a big no-no apparently as it’s actually very offensive to the chef. Makes sense, I guess – I mean, I’d be annoyed if I'd spent ages cooking a nice dinner and someone smothered it in Ketchup…
The eight mistakes you’re making when cooking pasta:
Having garlic bread as a side to pasta
Eating bread before the meal
Covering pasta dishes in cheese
Never eating pasta 'al dente'
Not using passata to make pasta sauce
Cutting spaghetti to make it shorter before eating
Adding cream to carbonara
Putting oil in pasta water
We already knew the one about putting oil in the water while cooking, but the garlic bread is killing us. There’s literally better than having a plate of carbs with a side of carbs?!
Napolina also had a couple things to say about making pizza too. Apparently stuffed crust pizzas are out of the question. Plus, a pizza with more than three toppings is also an abomination.
