9-1-1: Lone Star actor Ronen Rubinstein has come out as bisexual.

Ronen, who plays TK Strand in the 9-1-1 spin-off series, explained that he "fully identifies" as bisexual in a recent interview with Variety.

"It feels so good to talk about it," he said.

Opening up about his sexuality, Ronen said that he "finally" feels "comfortable" with being bisexual, after overcoming a "fear of... embracing" how he felt.

"The biggest thing for me is where I come from, it's like people like me and people who have identified as bisexual or gay or as any part of the community, you're just not welcomed," the actor explained. "It's as brutally honest as that."

Ronen, whose Lone Star character is gay and in a relationship with fellow officer Carlos Reyes, credited fans embracing TK and Carlos – or 'Tarlos' – as a couple with giving him the courage to speak out about his sexuality.

"The fans, especially the Tarlos fans, it's one of the biggest reasons that I finally felt safe and comfortable to talk about it and to finally embrace it and be happy about it," he admitted.

The actor also shared his advice for any fans in a similar situation. "I want people to know that this is a hopeful and a happy story," Ronen added. "I want people to know that they're not alone and it's definitely okay."

9-1-1: Lone Star airs on FOX in the US and Sky Witness in the UK.
