Yahoo Finance Alleged stalker accused of camping out to meet top civil servant after declaring love
A senior civil servant was stalked by a “fixated” former colleague who camped out in Whitehall in a bid to meet him, a court heard.
Alex Wilkinson, who works for the Department for Culture, Media, and Sport, was allegedly bombarded with messages by Ray Israel-Wilkinson in a seven-month campaign.
Israel-Wilkinson, an economist, is said to have declared her love for the government aide after meeting him working at the department, Westminster magistrates’ court heard.
She is accused of pursuing Mr Wilkinson for a meeting after she did not secure a permanent role, including waiting for him outside the department’s Parliament Street office with a banner declaring her intentions.
Israel-Wilkinson seemed “to have become fixated on Mr Wilkinson”, trying to contact him on email and social media.
Israel-Wilkinson, from Milton Keynes, pleaded not guilty to stalking Mr Wilkinson.
She is also accused of breaching bail by attending his offices with a placard declaring “waiting for my Wilko”. She is due to stand trial on November 2.
