Amanda Holden has revealed she was in tears when she met up with her friends for the first time since lockdown on Thursday (2 July).

Like many of us, the 49-year-old has struggled with not being able to see her pals during the current coronavirus pandemic, but has finally met up with good friends and fellow celebrities Lisa Faulkner, Angela Griffin and Tamzin Outhwaite.

She shared a picture on her Instagram of the four of them all looking smiley, despite the miserable weather, with the caption: “Omg. I literally cried when I saw these #girls in the flesh for the first time since #lockdown – a socially distanced walk this morning. SOOO WONDERFUL to be with them.”

The emotions felt during the reunion were clearly mutual, as Tamzin Outhwaite reassured the radio presenter that she wasn’t the only one who had shed a few tears, commenting on the photo saying: “I cried too Manda… Loved it.”

Fellow celebrities also took to commenting on the photo to share in the girls’ joy. Bancroft actress Sarah Parish said “Hello lovely ladies!! Can’t wait to see you all” and American singer Sinitta posted “Sistas!!”.

English actress and celebrity chef, Lisa Faulkner, also shared a video on her Instagram Stories saying that the meet-up was ‘wonderful’.

“I went to the park and met up with my friends, and we walked along in the pouring rain with umbrellas up, completely distant, but talking to each other with the dogs, but it was so lovely," she said.

Lisa then also posted Miranda’s image on her Story with the text: “Can't wait till we can cuddle again but for now I will settle with walking in the open air, even if it’s raining!!”
