Yahoo Finance Anya Taylor-Joy Is Rumoured To Be Dating Musician Malcolm McRae
Anya Taylor-Joy might have stollen our hearts following her role in The Queen’s Gambit, but it sounds like we’re not the only ones smitten with her – enter musician Malcolm McRae.
The US-born actor, 25, has received critical acclaim in the last year following her role as chess prodigy Beth Harmon in The Queen’s Gambit. Earlier this year she won a Golden Globe, SAG and Critics Choice Award among countless other gongs for her interpretation of the fictional red-headed chess player.
When it comes to her personal life, however, the actor has made it very much a guessing game for her fans.
‘There's a beauty in being anonymous,’ she told the Guardian in 2018. ‘There's a reason why we're actors, we're playing other people, so I think the idea of someone being interested in me - I'm quite a private person - is a bit daunting, but I try not to think about it.’
It's believed Taylor-Joy was previously in a relationship to Irish actor Eoin Macken (Resident Evil) after the pair met on the set of the film Crossmaglen. The duo were even rumoured to have got engaged, but neither actor has commented on the reports.
Ahead of the release of her next film, Last Night In Soho, and following numerous red carpet appearances, interest has now turned to her current rumoured boyfriend, McRae.

It’s believed the actor is dating McRae, a 27-year-old musician and actor, from the US.
According to McRae’s IMDb biography, the singer was ‘discovered’ aged 12, sings everything from pop to folk, and has appeared in a handful of films. McRae is currently in a band named More.
Earlier this year, Page Six published photos of the pair kissing in New York prior to her Saturday Night Live hosting gig.
While neither of the actors have confirmed their relationship, in an interview with ELLE in April the star noted that she has a ‘partner’, explaining: ‘My partner’s just come back from work, and he’s moving around all of his equipment.’
Taylor-Joy hasn't exactly gone 'Instagram official' with her rumoured beau, but in July McCrae did share a photo of his rumoured girlfriend on his account with the caption: ‘I’m besotted.’
Have Anya Taylor-Hoy and Malcolm McRae walked the red carpet together?
Sadly, the answer is no.
In September Taylor-Joy and McCrae were filmed walking hand-in-hand at the Venice Film Festival in an Instagram video shared by her stylist Law Roach. For the event the actor wore a bright pink Dior Haute Couture Gown, while her McRae was dressed in a black tuxedo. The actor was also photographed kissing her rumoured partner on a balcony at the festival.
However, when it came to walking the recent 2021 Emmy Awards, Taylor-Joy appeared solo.
