Backstreet Boy Nick Carter expecting another baby with wife following 'multiple miscarriages'

Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter and his wife Lauren Kitt are expecting another baby following "multiple miscarriages".

The couple, who are already parents to son Odin, four, and 15-month-old daughter Saoirse, announced the happy news on Wednesday and revealed it had been a pleasant surprise.

Kitt told People: "I didn't find out I was pregnant till I was about five-and-a-half months pregnant. I didn't have any symptoms, I didn't have anything indicating that I was pregnant. One day I just, I felt something move in my body and I said, 'Nick, there's something not right. I think I need to go to the doctor. Something's wrong with me.'

Kitt thought it could've been a tumour at first as she believed she wouldn't be able to naturally fall pregnant due to her "medical history".

"With everything that 2020 has given to the entire world, I look at it as a blessing," Carter, 40, said. "We love our two children and we pride ourselves in being great parents."

The couple had previously shared back in 2018 that they had lost a baby daughter following a miscarriage, but Kitt has said they have sadly experienced more than one.

Kitt said her last miscarriage prior to welcoming daughter Saorise was "more traumatic" because she was in her second term, comparing it to the pregnancy loss that Chrissy Teigen experienced last year.

She added that she and Carter were "so happy" to hear other people open up about their experiences of baby loss because "no one talks about it".
