Well, you aren’t the only one. A recent study in America from All Star Homefound 65pc of us engage in this quiet guessing game where we put our skills to the test.

How about the people you know? According to Zoopla, six in ten Britons admitted they have let their curiosity get the better of them and looked up how much their friends and family have paid for their homes. One in ten even go as far as to research the value of their partner’s home and a quarter end the relationship after what they find.

All this sleuthing can leave you with a second sense for guessing property prices and perhaps even secretly wondering: “Just how hard is it really to be an estate agent?”
