NYU also is home to the Future Labs and Blockchain Lab, both of which focus their efforts on blockchain research. The university's crowded conference and events schedule includes Global Fintech 2022: Defi or Defy: Mainstreaming Decentralized Finance and the 2nd Annual Cyber Conference.

Among its clubs, NYU has a Blockchain Society and a Fintech Association. And the university in the heart of the United States' most populous city has also partnered with the foundations of crypto companies Ripple and Algorand.

Programs across the university's vast campus at the heart of the United States' most populous city offer blockchain and related programs, such as from the Stern school, law school, NYU Tandon School of Engineering, and famous Tisch School for the Arts. Courses include Digital Currency, Blockchains & the Future of the Financial Services Industry, taught jointly by professors from the law and business schools; Blockchain Fiction, a course from the arts school that "playfully explores" multiple facets of the technology, beyond crypto; and many covering fintech topics.

NYU Entrepreneurship Institute is a multidisciplinary, all-campus program that brings professionals to campus to lecture to students aspiring to launch startups. A recent startup workshop this spring, NFTs, the Multiverse, and Blockchain-enabled Technologies: The Next Big Thing or The Next Big Overblown Risk?, featured attorneys from intellectual property and venture capital practices.

NYU also has online and certificate courses including a professional certificate in Emerging and Disruptive Technologies.
