BJP paid Rs 7 crore to buy a film star, claims Bengal actress
Tollywood actor Sreelekha Mitra has alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party offered to pay Rs 7 crore to rope in a famous star ahead of the Bengal Assembly elections. She made these allegations on social media on Monday. The post has, since, gone viral.
The post by Sreelekha, who is a supporter of Leftist ideology, has not gone down well with many. Actor and BJP member Rimjhim Mitra had challenged Sreelekha to reveal the identity of the actor.
Later on, Sreelekha wrote that she will soon release the name along with the evidence. To which, Rimjhim replied that if Sreelekha isn't able to come up with something substantial, her party will take legal action against her.
The election in West Bengal will be held in eight phases starting 27 March and end with the final round of voting on 29 April. Meanwhile, votes will be counted on 2 May.
