The Black Farmer Is Launching Two Caribbean-Inspired Sausages To Mark Black History Month
The Black Farmer is celebrating Black History Month (1 October - 31 October) by releasing two new flavours of sausages.
The new jerk pork sausages and jerk chicken sausages are being released to mark this significant month, and the packaging will feature two Black British heroes: Mary Seacole, a Jamaican nurse who cared for British soldiers during the Crimean war, and Lincoln Orville Lynchh, a decorated RAF air gunner during the Second World War.
The Black Farmer founder Wilfred Emmanuel-Jones, who has campaigned for several years for greater racial diversity across the grocery sector, has explained that proceeds from the sale of the sausages will be donated to two Black charities: the Black Cultural Archives and the Mary Seacole Trust.

The limited-edition sausages will go on sale at a number of supermarkets, and you can get your hands on them for £2.50 a pack.
The Black Farmer company was started by Wilfred, who was born in Jamaica, but he and his family came to the UK in the Windrush years in the 1950s.
He was brought up in inner-city Birmingham, but fulfilled his childhood dream to own a small piece of the British countryside, and at 40 years old, he bought a farm in Devon. Inspired by this and his love and support of British farming, he launched The Black Farmer brand.
