BOJ to begin scrutiny of weak inflation - Nikkei

TOKYO (Reuters) - The Bank of Japan is expected to announce on Friday its plan to conduct an examination into why inflation remains distant from its 2% target, the Nikkei newspaper reported on Friday.

The BOJ will release the findings as early as its rate review in January, the paper said without citing sources.

The central bank is meeting for a two-day rate review that ends on Friday.
