BP (BP) Outpaces Stock Market Gains: What You Should Know

BP (BP) closed the most recent trading day at $29.93, moving +1.63% from the previous trading session. The stock outpaced the S&P 500's daily gain of 0.75%.

Coming into today, shares of the oil and gas company had gained 16.22% in the past month. In that same time, the Oils-Energy sector gained 14.35%, while the S&P 500 lost 0.05%.

BP will be looking to display strength as it nears its next earnings release, which is expected to be November 2, 2021. In that report, analysts expect BP to post earnings of $0.88 per share. This would mark year-over-year growth of 2833.33%. Meanwhile, our latest consensus estimate is calling for revenue of $38.54 billion, down 12.82% from the prior-year quarter.
