Yahoo Finance Bridgerton Fans Notice a Production Mistake in Premiere Episode

Bridgerton is once again the talk of the ton!
Fans of the hit Netflix period drama pointed out a small oversight in the premiere episode that reminds the eagle-eyed viewer that the series was, of course, filmed in the twenty-first century and not Regency-era England.
The premiere begins with a scene showing the town square, with several people riding in horse-drawn buggies. In one shot, a yellow traffic line can be seen atop the cobblestone street.
The historical inaccuracy far from hindered Bridgerton's success, however.

The series, the first project to come out of Shonda Rhimes' deal with Netflix, had one of the biggest debuts on the streaming platform ever. With 63 million households viewing the show within 28 days of its premiere, Bridgerton is Netflix's fifth-largest original series launch in its history, Variety previously reported.

Just last week, Bridgerton was renewed for a second season — and the announcement came from Lady Whistledown herself. Production on Season 2 is set to begin this spring, and this time the story will focus on Lord Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey).

Bailey, 32, said over the weekend that he is "really hopeful" for his character's future in Season 2, as Anthony in season 1 "wasn't smiling that much."
"He's not a very happy man," Bailey said of his character during an episode of The Netflix Afterparty. "He sort of seems to be the embodiment of how society is really sort of messed up, like the patriarchal society for men and women and so, it's good to show how bad men can be and how controlling they can be and specifically with Daphne, as a c—kblocker."
"It can only get better," the Broadchurch star added.
Netflix did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment about the yellow lines Monday.
