The cast and crew of Bridgerton have resumed work on season 2.

The Netflix period drama's creator Chris Van Dusen shared the encouraging news on Tuesday (August 3) that cameras are rolling again on the London set two weeks after work was paused due to COVID-19 concerns.

Van Dusen told Variety: "We are back underway. We had to delay because of COVID, but we're back in it. Right now I'm in post [production], editing our first couple episodes, which are looking great."

Netflix previously announced on July 17 that Shondaland producers were working with cast and crew to isolate temporarily because two members of the production had been diagnosed with COVID.

The shutdown came during the spread of the fast-spreading Delta variant of COVID-19 across the world, two months after filming started on Bridgerton season 2 in May.

With work on new episodes back underway again, fans will no doubt be excited since Chris Van Dusen recently teased viewers are not "going to be ready" for the surprises being lined up.

"It's everything people love so much about the first season but more," he said.

Phoebe Dynevor has also addressed co-star Regé-Jean Page's departure from the show, revealing that his presence will be felt even though he won't appear.

"I think he'll definitely be referred to a lot," the actress told The Wrap. "I think we'll see the baby. And we'll just focus more on [Daphne's] relationship with the Bridgerton Family."

Bridgerton season 1 is now available to watch on Netflix. Season 2 is in production. Secret Cinema with Fever Present Bridgerton opens on November 10 in a secret outer London location. To purchase tickets, head here.
