Bwin.Party awarded licence in New Jersey

LONDON (ShareCast) - Bookmaker Bwin.Party Digital Entertainment said two of its US subsidiaries have been awarded a Casino Service Industry Enterprise Licence by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement. The FTSE 250 group said that the licence applies its Bwin.Party Entertainment (NJ) LLC and Bwin.Party (USA) Inc units, which operate the online gaming platform in the state, which supports the Borgata Casino, Borgata Poker and PartyPoker brands.

"We believe that the path to regulation across the United States is inevitable and expect that other states will soon follow," said group chief executive Norbert Teufelberger.

Bwin shates were down 0.66% to 82.40p at 09:57 on Thursday.
