An investigation was launched after a Boeing 737 Max flown by Ryanair plunged at alarming speed during its final approach to London Stansted Airport, it has emerged.Flight data reveals that on December 4 last year, flight FR1269 dropped more than 2,000ft in a mere 17 seconds.

Aircraft delivery delays 'brutal' - Lufthansa CEO
STORY: Aircraft delivery issues are having a "brutal" impact on Lufthansa, and won't be resolved before the end of the decade.That's according to CEO Carsten Spohr, speaking at a business press club in Stuttgart late Thursday (June 27).He said the aircraft shortage could be costing Lufthansa some $535 million a year - although he did not provide an exact figure.The German group has ordered 250 new aircraft from Airbus and Boeing to modernize its fleet.Those deliveries are scheduled between this year and 2029, but Spohr said, "no plane arrives on time." He added around 100 of Lufthansa's 750 aircraft were grounded either for maintenance reasons or because they'd been decommissioned.Earlier this week, Airbus lowered its forecast for deliveries this year to around 770 jets from around 800. The announcement came with growing doubts among suppliers over its jet output as Airbus grapples with parts shortages.At rival Boeing, a series of incidents have raised regulatory scrutiny of the U.S. manufacturer.It's added to delays in deliveries that originated during the pandemic.

(Reuters) -Oil prices will not change much in the second half of 2024 as concerns around demand from China and prospects of higher supply from key producers counter risks from geopolitical tensions, a Reuters poll indicated on Friday. A poll of 44 analysts and economists surveyed by Reuters in the last two weeks forecast the global benchmark, Brent crude , would average $83.93 per barrel in 2024, just shy of the $84.01 consensus in the previous month's poll. Brent crude futures have averaged $83.4 thus far in 2024, after brief spikes to as high as $92.18, driven by supply risks due to the conflict in the Middle East.

Spanish oil major Repsol plans to sell a minority interest in its Eagle Ford shale assets in South Texas, in a deal that could value the assets at up to $2 billion, three sources familiar with the talks told Reuters. The sources said Repsol has hired Scotiabank to assist with the process, and aims to bring in a partner or partners to hold so-called non-op positions, earning a cut from sale of hydrocarbons while paying a share of operating costs. The non-op partners are not responsible for oil and gas extraction or other day-to-day operations.
