From ELLE

Chrissy Teigen has revealed that she is currently several weeks sober, following a decision to give up alcohol.

The model and cookbook author shared a peppy video on her Instagram page Tuesday (28 December), featuring her dancing in a one-piece swimsuit during her Christmas vacation with her husband John Legend, children Luna and Miles and close friends hair stylist Jen Atkin and photographer Mike Rosenthal.

In response to the joyful 'Good Morning clip', one fan jokingly commented: 'I need whatever drugs you’re on!!' to which Teigen quickly replied in the comment section that she is '4 weeks sober,' before also adding some heart and prayer hand emojis.

The presenter then took to Instagram Stories on Wednesday, December 30, to expand more about her decision and how it was aided by Holly Whitaker's self-help book, Quit Like A Woman: The Radical Choice To Not Drink In A Culture Obsessed With Alcohol.

'One month ago, on my birthday, I got this book from my doctor and friend,' she wrote. 'I was done with making an a** of myself in front of people (I'm still embarrassed), tired of day drinking and feeling like s**t by 6, not being able to sleep.'

She added: 'I have been sober ever since and even if you can't see yourself doing it or just plain don't want to, it is still an incredible read.'

Teigen has previously opened up about her relationship with alcohol and the need for pauses in her alcohol consumption.

In a 2017 interview for Cosmopolitan, she revealed that at a point she was 'point blank, just drinking too much'.

Teigen explained she had ' got used to being in hair and makeup and having a glass of wine' with the routine continuing through to a 'glass of wine [that] would carry over into me having one before the awards show. And then a bunch at the awards show. And then I felt bad for making kind of an ass of myself to people that I really respected. And that feeling, there's just nothing like that. You feel horrible. It's not a good look for me, for John, for anybody.'
