Next week on Coronation Street: a sad goodbye, Asha reunites with Corey, plus Michael's world is rocked (spoilers)
Might ‘uncle’ Ronnie really be Michael’s dad? Plus Todd makes his next Machiavellian move to get Billy back, Asha moves on by taking a step backwards, and Nick gets an offer from Natasha.
It’s all your Coronation Street spoilers for next week 30 March-2 April, 2021.
Ronnie’s revelation rocks Michael
A canny businessman ought to open a shop in soapland selling DNA tests. Just imagine how much money they’d make? Paternity is often a very murky issue, as Michael is now discovering after finding out about Aggie and Ronnie’s past dalliance.
Despite Ed’s assurances that he’ll always be Michael’s dad no matter what, it seems that the only way the matter can be settled is with a test. To give Michael his credit, he will be seen making it clear to Ronnie that regardless of the result, he’ll never accept him as his father. But will matters remain so clear cut should the Baileys’ family tree need to be redrawn?
Todd schemes to win Billy back
It feels like everyone’s on a relationship merry-go-round at the moment, with couples either on the rocks, dating new partners or caught in a love triangle.

A case in point being Billy and Paul, who split thanks to the machinations of Todd, who himself is now confessing his true feelings for Billy. See what I mean? If only characters could select a carousel horse and stick with their pick.
Todd is now telling Billy that he’s considering taking a job in Bromsgrove but will stay if Billy wants them to be together.

Billy, though, really ought to know that Todd has no intention of leaving. As if Corrie would go to the trouble of recasting him, only for him to scarper after five minutes.
Asha seeks solace with Corey
Asha and Nina are another example of a once-happy couple being put through the emotional wringer. After experiencing about two episodes’ worth of contentment, the two of them are now sharing scenes filled with sadness and recrimination.
Expect to see Asha reconciling with Corey (who’s soon pressuring her to go to bed with him), while Nina retaliates by inviting Seb round to watch a film. And there we were thinking we’d seen the last of Asha’s creepy ex-boyfriend…
Nick’s choice
It’s Groundhog Day for Nick, who’s again calling on Leanne, saying he’s still in love with her and trying to get her to admit that she loves him too.
Corrie is currently keeping schtum as to how Leanne reacts, but someone who definitely does seem interested in Nick is Natasha. She’ll be seen telling Nick she’s changed her mind about their living arrangements and that he’s now welcome to stay with her and Sam. So in which direction will Mr Tilsley end up tilting?
A sad goodbye
Old-school Corrie fans, take note: there’s a tribute special – Johnny Briggs: Coronation Street Legend - being shown on Monday, 29 March on ITV.
Briggs’s alter-ego Mike Baldwin was the first of a fair few brash Londoners who’ve come up to Weatherfield over the years to show these parochial northerners a thing or two. It’s a trope that’s alive and well today, with Ronnie Bailey the latest to arrive in town from the sophisticated south.
