Domino's Made TikTok's Viral Watermelon Pizza

Domino's Made TikTok's Viral Watermelon Pizza

TikTok has given us a lot of trends. Some are great, like the grilled Baked Feta Pasta and Pesto Eggs. Others are not the best, like cloud bread (trust me, it doesn’t taste good), or the watermelon-and-mustard combo.

Well, here's another weird one for you — watermelon pizza. No need for questions; it’s exactly what it sounds like. Watermelon acts like a crust with toppings that range from fruit to spices. Possibly the first creator to try it was @lalaleluu. She sliced a watermelon, squirted some sauce on top, added sliced lemon and Tajín and ate a slice. That I can get down with. But other creators may have taken the trend a little too far.

The Domino’s Australia TikTok account made an actual pizza with the watermelon. They took a watermelon round, smothered it in sauce, cheese, and pepperoni, and COOKED IT IN THE OVEN. Because who doesn’t love... hot watermelon?!

I do have to say that the melty cheese and crispy pepperoni looked good, but I can’t imagine that the toppings would stay on the wet, slimy watermelon. Plus it would all be ruined when I bite into the whole thing and it’s not a regular crust.

The company captioned the video “Y’all keep asking us for a low carb option 😏🍕Nah fr when we saw @elburritomonster make a watermelon pizza, we HAD to give it a go,” crediting another creator who made the trend.
