El Al CEO says airline still in talks with Airbus, Boeing on planes

JERUSALEM, Feb 29 (Reuters) - El Al Israel Airlines remains in negotiations to buy short-haul aircraft from both Boeing and Airbus, CEO Dina Ben-Tal Ganancia said on Thursday.

Israel's Gaza war has delayed the decision but one will be made this year, she said on the sidelines of the airline's earnings presentation.

"We understand we need to make a decision," she told Reuters. "There are a lot of issues with the supply chain and the fact that we are in a war a little bit delayed our discussions, mainly because they were not eager to come to Israel."

"It's 50-50 percent" between the two aircraft makers, she added.
