Facebook (FB) Dips More Than Broader Markets: What You Should Know

Facebook (FB) closed the most recent trading day at $183.28, moving -0.49% from the previous trading session. This change lagged the S&P 500's daily loss of 0.14%. Meanwhile, the Dow lost 0.11%, and the Nasdaq, a tech-heavy index, lost 0.1%.

Heading into today, shares of the social media company had lost 1.75% over the past month, lagging the Computer and Technology sector's loss of 0.36% and the S&P 500's loss of 0.91% in that time.

Investors will be hoping for strength from FB as it approaches its next earnings release, which is expected to be October 30, 2019. In that report, analysts expect FB to post earnings of $1.91 per share. This would mark year-over-year growth of 8.52%. Our most recent consensus estimate is calling for quarterly revenue of $17.32 billion, up 26.19% from the year-ago period.

FB's full-year Zacks Consensus Estimates are calling for earnings of $6.39 per share and revenue of $70.29 billion. These results would represent year-over-year changes of -15.59% and +25.89%, respectively.
