Uncharted's latest teaser came in quite an unexpected form.

A two-second clip of Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg was smuggled into a video posted on Sony's YouTube channel on Wednesday (May 26), meant to celebrate the creativity of the company's employees.

While not much, the two shots see Holland's Nathan Drake and his mentor Victor 'Sully' Sullivan – played by Wahlberg – attending some sort of black-tie event in a fancy looking hotel or restaurant.

The scene has no dialogue or music, but the heavy looks the pair exchange seem to indicate that there is some tension and disappointment between them.

As brief as this clip is, it's still enough to excite movie-goers and fans of the franchise who have been waiting over a decade for this film to finally land.

The movie, which is based on the 2007 video game by the same title, sets out to expand on the events of the game and acts as a prequel, explaining how a younger Drake and Sully met and became partners and got into the treasure hunting business in the first place.

The flick has been in and out of development since 2008 and with the pandemic delaying it even further once it was so close to coming to fruition, it's fair to say that any update and teaser is a good sign that the film is actually going to happen.

Only earlier this week, a new official picture from the movie was released, which showed the duo explore what looked like an old church of sorts.

Rounding up the cast are Tati Gabrielle as Braddock, Sophia Ali as Chloe Frazer and Antonio Banderas in a yet unknown role, while Ruben Fleischer (Venom) is directing it.

Uncharted is set for release on February 18, 2022.
