This fuzzy weighted blanket is the best thing you’ll ever buy for yourself

If you’ve never slept with a weighted blanket before, you’re seriously missing out. Resting underneath one of the heavy pieces of fabric is like the most therapeutic hug you’ll ever experience — minus having to deal with other people because, well, people.

Weighted blankets are like regular blankets but cooler. The weight is meant to mimic the calming effects of Deep Touch Pressure (DTP). Per the National Institute of Health, DTP is a proven technique used to treat certain sensory disorders, including anxiety, ADHD and more through sensations like hugging, squeezing, stroking or the feeling of a weighted fabric.

TL;DR: It’s like one giant self-care hug.

But, to be frank, most weighted blankets are super ugly. They stick out like a sore thumb on your bed — the main character in your otherwise flawlessly curated bedroom. But what would you say if I told you I found one that’s actually cute? Well, that’s what I did. Behold:

Not only does this guy seamlessly blend in with any trendy color and aesthetic, but it also gets the calming, de-stressing job DONE. One Amazon reviewer even wrote that it “feels like being hugged” and “keeps you warm without overheating.”

The blanket comes in two different sizes and weight options: one is 20 pounds at 60 by 80 inches, and the other is 15 pounds at 48 by 72 inches. If you’ve never bought a weighted blanket before, most manufacturers recommend that you buy a blanket that weighs roughly equal to or less than 10% of your body weight. For example, if your weight is 150 pounds, a 15-pound blanket will give you what you’re looking for. Anything heavier, and you risk feeling squished and overwhelmed by the weight — and no one wants that.

And if you’re feeling been-there-done-that with the all pink everything of the last five years, it also comes in a nice cream and a soft grey.
