Girlfriends get their boyfriends to follow Selena Gomez on Instagram: ‘Y’all got the boys involved’

Pop culture aficionados are well aware of the recent developments with the Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber drama. For those in need of a refresher, TikTok influencers Kyla Zhao (@kylazingaround) and Cami Twomey (@cami.twomeyy) made comprehensive videos explaining it all.

A new TikTok trend has emerged as a result. TikTok users who empathize with the Rare Beauty founder have recorded their boyfriends following Selena Gomez on Instagram as a show of support.

In a video posted by Maria Santiago (@ma_santi), her boyfriend shows he’s #TeamSelena. The seven-second clip has since received more than 6 million views and 1.1 million likes.

“Y’all got the boys involved”

“My bf was already following Selena Gomez and I’m not even mad about that,” wrote @itssmetanya.

“yk its a different level of drama when the boys finally decided to jump in,” wrote @thatnycmissy_.

“Y’all got the boys involved,” laughed @anahivz1.

Chloe, a Canadian TikTok influencer (@chlogeddes) got her boyfriend to do the same.

“The way I did this too,” wrote @ellie_raee.

“bout to download insta just to follow Selena,” said @oliviarose4089.

“Doing Gods Work,” wrote @ngawikiharrison4.

Ian of @ianandmariah also followed Selena as a sign of camaraderie.

“AS HE SHOULD,” said @parisss0601.

“Thats a keeper!!!” commented @wallflowersoph.

“you teaching him right,” wrote @camilaotero40.

“I don’t even wear makeup but for her yes”

Influencer Julie B (@julieandcorey) took things one step further: She bought Rare Beauty products using her boyfriend’s credit card.

“Dang you took it to the next level,” wrote @rachaelbusch430.

“NEW LEVEL UNLOCKED,” said @pointzero.id.

“I don’t even wear makeup but for her yes,” said @arianna_es.

At the time of reporting, Selena Gomez has 392 million Instagram followers. Perhaps significant others have helped Selena uphold her position as the most followed person on Instagram.
