Is there going to be a second series of The Undoing?

We've been entirely hooked on Sky's The Undoing since the edge-of-your-seat psychological thriller landed at the end of October. Whether we're trying to recreate Grace's wardrobe or theorising about who on earth actually killed Elena Alves, our thinking is almost completely wall-to-wall The Undoing right now. The only thing we're hoping for now, is a second series..

The crime thriller follows the seemingly perfect life of Upper East Side therapist Grace Fraser and her husband Jonathan, which looks like it's all about to come crashing down after a a violent death leads to a chain reaction of damning revelations about the couple and others in their social circle.

The series is based on the novel You Should Have Known by Jean Hanff Korelitz and was released as a limited series of just six episodes, which doesn't bode well for our hopes of a second season, since limited series tend to stick to their original designation. Plus, in other not-so-positive news the series hasn't been renewed for a second season, but that doesn't actually mean it won't be since we've seen it happen before, and with another Nicole Kidman series no less.

The Sky and HBO series Big Little Lies starring Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon was first billed as a seven-episode series, but after the success of the show it was renewed for another season which went beyond the plot of the novel it was based on. So there's hope for The Undoing, even though the series covers all the source material in the book.

In other promising news, series director Susanne Bier recently said in an interview that she wouldn't rule out another season.

"Of course you wonder what comes after this is over. We did joke about it on set," she told Oprah Mag. When asked about the possibility of a second series Bier said, "I won't rule it out. But it's not in the concrete works."

We'll take it!
