A group of students allegedly came together to pull off one of the "best" Halloween pranks on their professor.
At the start of the TikTok, Rashid and his friends change their screen displays so that a "ball" moves across their windows. As the "professor" moves closer to his own monitor, a haunting image of a possessed woman suddenly appears. The professor then immediately falls off his chair, seemingly spooked by the prank.
The clip has since gone viral, garnering nearly 7 million views and 11,000 comments. At least one fellow user called it the "best prank."
Other users couldn't get enough of the "professor's" reaction.
"His soul left the meeting," one person joked.
"Y'all got a pop quiz tomorrow for SURE," a second quipped.
With many students taking virtual classes, Zoom call pranks have become increasingly popular. In September, Rashid shared another clip in which he and his friends changed their screens to simulate Among Us — the popular mobile game in which players have to determine who the "imposter" among them is. Rashid's clip eventually received more than 1 million views.
From playing around with their backgrounds to changing their names to "Reconnecting," pranksters can't seem to get enough of the video conferencing platform's features. So, next time you're looking to spice things up while on a Zoom call (our suggestion is to NOT do it during a work call or in a virtual class setting), consider pulling some inspiration from these TikTokers, who have similarly racked up millions of views with their own pranks.
