Yahoo Finance IPL 2021: We Are Probably Over Analyzing Virat Kohli’s Dismissal Way Too Much – Parthiv Patel
The Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli had a dismal outing against Kolkata Knight Riders on Monday at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. His stay lasted four balls as he was trapped lbw by Prasidh Krishna for five runs.
Royal Challengers Bangalore lost the match by nine wickets as the Kolkata Knight Riders chased down 92 runs comfortably. While analyzing the match on Star Sports, former cricketer Parthiv Patel expressed his thoughts on Virat Kohli’s form lately. He admitted that the RCB skipper head position wasn’t perfect, but added that people are over-analyzing Kohli’s dismissal and form. Parthiv Patel said,
“I think sometimes you have to give the credit to the bowler as well. It is one of the most difficult balls to face. Yes, the head position is slightly out but it’s always been the case with Virat Kohli.
“It’s not like it’s the first time. Because of the form, he is in, because of maybe the mental space he is in, that is the reason why he has missed that ball, I think. We are just probably over-analyzing it way too much,” he added.

Parthiv Patel added that if Virat Kohli was in form, he would hit boundaries against the same delivery that he got out to. He stated that it’s just a matter of time that Virat Kohli comes back to his prime form. Patel also said that people are trying to read too much into Kohli’s head position.
“If he was in prime form, we have seen him hit those boundaries from mid-on till fine leg. So, I think it’s just a matter of time. I don’t think we need to read too much into that head position. It was not as bad as we are trying to talk about it,” Parthiv Patel concluded.
