Italy's state lender CDP proposes Di Foggia as new Terna CEO

ROME (Reuters) -Italy's state lender Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP) on Thursday proposed Nokia Italia manager Giuseppina Di Foggia as the new CEO of power grid operator Terna.

CDP, controlled by the Italian Economy ministry and the leading investor in Terna, also named Igor De Biaso as the company's chairman.

The appointments, set to be ratified by Terna shareholders on May 9, complete a round of nominations at major state-controlled firms decided by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni's right-wing coalition.

On Wednesday, the Economy Ministry brought in new management at utility Enel and defence group Leonardo, while it confirmed CEOs at energy group Eni and Poste Italiane.

Meloni, Italy's first female prime minister, said last month she wanted to appoint a woman to the helm of a major state-run company - a pledge she fulfilled with Di Foggia's pick.
