Filming for the 2021 series of Britain's Got Talent has been postponed amid a third lockdown for England.

Shooting the audition stages was set to start in late January, however, it has now been pushed back to an as-of-yet unspecified date.

An ITV spokesperson said: "The filming for the 15th series of Britain's Got Talent has been postponed from its proposed record dates in late January.

BGT auditions typically take place in venues across the UK at the beginning of the year before airing in spring.

Show boss Simon Cowell was due to return to his judging duties this year after taking time out from the talent competition finals last year when he broke several bones in his back.

He is set to make up the judging panel for the 15th series alongside Alesha Dixon, David Walliams and Amanda Holden, with Ant and Dec presenting.
