The New York Jets have finally landed their quarterback on the eve of training camp.

The Jets and Ryan Fitzpatrick have reached an agreement on a 1-year, $12 million contract, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. The deal is fully guaranteed.

Shefter also reports that Fitzpatrick can earn up to $3 million in incentives.

If Fitzpatrick does reach the incentive marks, it would mark a huge win for him and a huge bump from the $8 million contract the Jets were reportedly offering at the bginning of the summer. At that point, Fitzpatrick was said to be contemplating retirement.

According to Albert Breer of theMMQB, the Jets would have to win the Super Bowl for Fitzpatrick to reach the entire $3 million in incentives. Last year, Peyton Manning was given $2 million for winning the AFC Championship and another $2 million for winning the Super Bowl.

The two sides had been at an impasse most of the summer as Fitzpatrick looked to cash in as a free agent after the best season of his career. However, the Jets seemed willing to move on to Geno Smith, forcing Fitzpatrick's hand without any other viable offers of a starting job.

On the eve of training camp, it looks like the Jets finally blinked.

Fitzpatrick's base salary ranks 12th among all quaterbacks in 2016. Without any bonuses, Fitzpatrick's total pay in 2016 ranks just 22nd among all quarterbacks, but would be 17th with the incentives.

Jets fans received some hope of a deal earlier this week when wide receiver Brandon Marshall, who has been vocal about re-signing Fitzpatrick, posted a picture of the two hanging out together in Chicago.
