Need To Know: Analysts Are Much More Bullish On Great Portland Estates Plc (LON:GPOR) Revenues

Shareholders in Great Portland Estates Plc (LON:GPOR) may be thrilled to learn that the analysts have just delivered a major upgrade to their near-term forecasts. The revenue forecast for this year has experienced a facelift, with analysts now much more optimistic on its sales pipeline.

Following the latest upgrade, the nine analysts covering Great Portland Estates provided consensus estimates of UK£90m revenue in 2021, which would reflect a not inconsiderable 10% decline on its sales over the past 12 months. Prior to the latest estimates, the analysts were forecasting revenues of UK£63m in 2021. The consensus has definitely become more optimistic, showing a great increase in revenue forecasts.

One way to get more context on these forecasts is to look at how they compare to both past performance, and how other companies in the same industry are performing. We would highlight that sales are expected to reverse, with the forecast 10% revenue decline a notable change from historical growth of 10% over the last five years. Compare this with our data, which suggests that other companies in the same industry are, in aggregate, expected to see their revenue grow 5.0% next year. It's pretty clear that Great Portland Estates' revenues are expected to perform substantially worse than the wider industry.

The Bottom Line

The most important thing to take away from this upgrade is that analysts lifted their revenue estimates for this year. They're also anticipating slower revenue growth than the wider market. Given that analysts appear to be expecting substantial improvement in the sales pipeline, now could be the right time to take another look at Great Portland Estates.
