Yahoo Finance Chargers request interview with Giants OC Jason Garrett to replace Anthony Lynn
Just one year after he parted with the Dallas Cowboys, Jason Garrett is back in the mix for a head coaching job in the NFL.
Garrett, who just wrapped up his first season with the New York Giants as their offensive coordinator, is being considered to replace Anthony Lynn in Los Angeles, according to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
The Chargers, who fired Lynn on Monday morning, requested an interview with Garrett on Monday night.

The Chargers fired Lynn after four years despite his four-game winning streak to end the season. Lynn went 33-31 in his career with the team, though 12-20 over the past two seasons.
Jason Garrett joined Giants after long Cowboys stint
Garrett spent a decade with the Cowboys, and racked up an 85-67 overall record before he was fired after last season.
Though he led the Cowboys to three NFC East titles and won the Associated Press’ Coach of the Year award in 2016, Garrett reached the playoffs just three times and went only 2-3 in the postseason.
When Cowboys owner Jerry Jones switched gears and hired Mike McCarthy, Garrett landed with Joe Judge and the Giants.
New York went just 6-10 and ranked second-to-last in the league in yards per game and points per game, the Chargers apparently think Garrett is ready for another shot leading a team.
